A high-performance sputtering material widely applied in many high-tech fields due to its unique physical and chemical properties.
1. Characteristics
1) High melting point and high temperature resistance
・The melting point of niobium reaches 2468°C (pure metal niobium), while that of niobium oxide (Nb₂O₅) is about 1512°C, making
it suitable for high temperature process environments.
2) Excellent chemical stability
・Niobium does not react with air, acids, or alkalis at room temperature and has strong corrosion resistance. Niobium oxide
likewise has extremely high chemical inertness and which is suitable for poor chemical environments.
3) High electrical and thermal conductivity
・The thermal conductivity of Nb is 54 W/(m-K) at 25°C, which is advantageous in the electronics and semiconductor industries.
4) Good optical performance
・Niobium oxide has a high refractive index and low dispersion properties, making it suitable for optical films.
5) High purity and uniformity
・The purity of Nb target is usually ≥99.95%, grain size can be controlled from 20 to
50 μm, and microstructure distribution is uniform.
2. Main Applications
1) Semiconductor and microelectronics
・Used for produce high-performance insulating layers and gate dielectric materials and to enhance the reliability of integrated
circuits.
2) Optical coatings and display industry
・To reduce reflections and increase light transmittance in touch screens, LCDs, energy-saving glass, etc.
3) Solar Cells and Photovoltaic Industry
・As a transparent conductive thin film material, it improves the photoelectric conversion efficiency of solar cells.
(4) Aerospace and corrosion resistant coatings
・Used to make high-temperature, corrosion-resistant coatings suitable for high-end equipment such as aircraft and satellites.
(5) Decorative and tool coatings
・Improve abrasion resistance and aesthetics of tools and ornaments.
